Hellbastard are from North East England and are regarded as part of the original wave of so-called Crust, even coining the phrase via their seminal demo tape “Ripper Crust” back in the 80s.

Shortly after releasing their debut album “Heading For Internal Darkness”, their drummer Phil left and so Scotty and Scruff got a replacement in the form of Bry Newton. This new trio recorded a new session, from which 3 tracks were used to release their 7” of They Brought Death, in several colours.

Some 32 years later, the 7” commands great sums of money and so Scruff was approached with a view to re-release it on vinyl, but with some improvements…

1 – All of the seven session tracks to be included
2 – The old monochrome cover to be updated to a full-colour version
3 – A new selection of coloured vinyl
4 – Extras in the form of a poster and for the special edition (black vinyl!) a replica 7” sleeve and custom screen-printed patch.
This has often been asked-for with several labels wanting to do it, but Scruff has always resisted offers…until now!
